The Swedish Centre for International Youth Exchange
CIU is a non-governmental organisation with 30 member organisations. The members of CIU are organisations that in various ways want to support young peoples internationalisation.
CIU runs youth exchanges with several different countries, provides inspiration and advice to young people that want to discover the world and develops methods to improve youth exchanges.
CIU vision and strategy
CIU:s vision is a world where young people have a greater understanding of global and cultural contexts as well as work towards a democratic and equal development of society.
The strategy to reach the vision is to strengthen the individual and thereby society through international youth exchanges and to create meetings over cultural and national borders, through information, inspiration and the spreading of knowledge.

MyTellus
CIU runs MyTellus, a meeting place for young Swedes that want to go abroad. The website contains Sweden’s largest database with possibilities to study and work all over the world. MyTellus includes current information on everything from vacancies in season and voluntary work to tips on cheap places to stay and where to find stipends. Method- and competence development
CIU publishes books on methods on exchange programmes, school exchanges, intercultural learning etc. and also arranges seminars, breakfast meetings and training aimed at people who work with exchanges and young people. CIU also runs a project with the aim to develop a system for validation/recognition of informal learning within international exchanges.
Schools
CIU provides books and lectures to teachers and student about school exchange, international opportunities and internationalisation. CIU also supply information relevant to this area at the website through news, reports, links and materials.
