Youth exchange and voluntary works as means to produce sustainability tools
This seminar was a Support Measure within the European YOUTH programme and was funded by the Swedish National Board for Youth Affairs.
CIU arranged the seminar together with Allianssi (Finland), Fredskorpset (Norway), Bundesvereinigung Kulturelle Kinder- und Jugendbildung e.V. (BKJ) och Internationaler Jugendaustausch- und Besucherdienst der Bundesrepublik Deutschland e.V. (IJAB) (Germany). The seminar took place in Stockholm on the 15th and 16th of May 2006.
Objective of seminar
The seminar had the aim to display and create a broader understanding of the community values of international youth work. The object of the seminar was to gather youth leaders, researchers and youth exchange- and voluntary work stakeholders in order to create discussions and learning regarding the community values of voluntary work.
Seminar workshops
1. Sustainability tools developed through voluntary work and international youth exchange programs. Which skills can be defined as sustainability tools? When do they appear?
2. Strategies for the evaluation of sustainability tools (how to evaluate the skills, activities and fields that were outlined in workshop 1).
