Utbytet gjorde mig till en bättre människa
Manasnit Klinkul från Thailand deltog i Sweden World Youth 2007. Sex månader efter avslutat utbyte berättar hon om sina upplevelser, den svåra perioden efter utbytet och framtidsplaner.
Who are you and what is your occupation?
My name is Manasnit Klinkul and my nickname is Toom. However, my friends call me Tammy. I'm 23 years old, (the oldest participant from Nonthaburi...hahaha). Jag och mina vänner komme ifran Nonthaburi Provinsen. There are 7 of us from Nonthaburi Team but our counterpart come from different parts of Sweden. I'm now a teacher of German in a Thai School in Bangkok. I am also studying for my master degree in Teaching Thai as a Foreign Language.
What is your experience of the exchangeprogramme?
Oh, a lot!! It's quite hard to explain what we've been through in this programme.
I would recommend a website of ours. http://swythailandgotene2007.blogspot.com
However, I would shortly say that i've experienced the entrepreneurial way of thinking, maintaining group dynamic, living under pressure, being patient and understanding of the cross-culture.
Tell us about a special moment for you, from your time in the exchange!
A special moment for me is with my counterpart, Elin. We had our ups and downs, but we did it through for 6 months. We both are the mirror which reflects each other. And this have taught me a lot both in terms of 'friendship' and 'self improvement' I would say that I am glad to have a friend like her come to my life.
What is the most important knowledge that you gained from the programme?
Many people spend their entire life to discover who they are. But I luckily had a chance to know more about myself through out this exchange programme. The biggest knowledge I gain from this programme is getting to know about myself, life, society, and people.
The first month in Thailand (before the arriving of the Swedish) It was the time when Thai participants from 3 provinces have met and learned each other. It's like a reality show and i've learned most about people.
Three months in Prathumthani, Thailand I've learned more about 'Thai society' in which I was originated from.
Three months in Gotene, Sweden I've learned most about myself. What kind of people I am exactly? What's my goal of life? And it was a time to review what i've done in the past and what i'm gonna do in the future.
What are you doing today and what kind of impact did the exchange have on your daily life today?
After I came back to Thailand, it took me almost a month trying to combine a 'new' me and the 'old' me to live in the Thai society. The exchange have a great impact on me. It inspired me of having my own business which has something to do with the kids. I was thinking about arranging an oversea camp to Sweden. The kids can go and explore new things in new culture and have a good experience and best memory ever. Although, what am I doing right now is not what I was dreaming about, I think it is another step to my goal.
I would say that if I didn't join this exchange programme, I wouldn't have set my goal of life like this. Maybe, I wouldn't be able to discover my dream at all.
Last but not least, this exchange have changed me a in many better ways and it provided me a very good time of my life's memory.
